Mendip District Council - Briefing June 1st
The Prime Minister has set out his timeline for businesses to start re-opening in June, including plans for open air markets and car showrooms to open from today. Other "non-essential" retailers are expected to reopen from 15thJune if the Government's five tests are met and provided they follow safety guidelines.

Lockdown easing - meeting up
Groups of up to six people from different households will be able to meet outside in England from today. They can meet in gardens, in addition to parks, as long as households keep two metres apart. The Prime Minister told the Downing Street daily briefing that it was possible because the Government's five tests were being met.
Pubs could open sooner than July

Dental practices to reopen from 8th June
Dental practices in England have been told they can reopen from Monday 8th June, if they put in place appropriate safety measures. All routine dental care in England has been suspended since 25th March.
Back to school
Schools and early years providers could start to take in more children from today. Across England, children in early years' settings, Year R, Year 1, Year 6 and Year 10 can return over the coming weeks, if conditions are right to do so.
