Parish Council News for August 2019
While no formal Parish Council meeting takes place in August, this didn't mean the Members of the Parish Council didn't have a meeting, but instead of sitting round a table, they went on a walkabout around Beckington Village.
First stop, Sue's Walk to look at the undergrowth and the area to the right as you enter from Warminster Road, then on to the new allotments to see how they are progressing, then down to the bus shelter on Frome Road.
As a result of the walkabout, the Parish Council commissioned two days of work to be undertaken on Sue's walk, so the all the hedges are cut right back, grass cut really short and the area at the start on the right to be cleared as the plan is to keep that area clear and put a bench in it.
Also, the Council has commissioned work to be carried out on the Frome Road bust shelter, to have all the undergrowth hanging over the top cleared back, slates cleared, all plant material removed, and the guttering emptied.
It has to be reported that the evening did end with a pint in the local pub!
