A36 Bath to Beckington resurfacing and maintenance work

A36 Bath to Beckington resurfacing and maintenance work

Highways England plans, builds, operates and maintains England's motorways and major A roads. I am writing to let you know we will shortly be carrying out essential surfacing and maintenance work on the A36.

The works

Essential surfacing works need to be carried out in three locations on the A36 between Bath and Beckington. We will carry out the work overnight when there are fewer vehicles on the road - during the day the carriageway will be open as usual. As well as resurfacing, we will also be carrying out drainage and lining works to take full advantage of the closure and minimise future disruption.

Dates of work

The work will start on the evening of Monday 18 November and finish on the morning of Saturday 14 December. Work will take place at night time, Monday - Friday, between 8pm and 6am.

Traffic management

Whilst work is taking place, we will need to fully close the section of road between the junction with the A36 Beckford Road and Bathwick Street in Bath and Beckington roundabout. A clearly signposted diversion will be in place. Full escorted access will be available to residents with access onto the A36 and to the emergency services.

.

We always aim to work to the programme, however unforseen circumstances or adverse weather conditions may mean changes to it. We will notify you of any major changes within the programme via advance roadside warning signs, but please also monitor www.trafficengland.com to keep up to date. We will make every effort to ensure the impact on the local community and travelling public is kept to a minimum.

If you have any questions or would like further information please contact Highways England Customer Contact Centre on 0300 123 5000 or by email: info@highwaysengland.co.uk
