The Parish Lengthsman and his hard-working team were very busy in January and February clearing the dich that starts from the bottom of the new Allotments and then runs down to Warminster Road. Ownership of the dich is not fully established and enquiries are still underway with Mendip District Council to try and establish this. But, in the meantime if was felt best that the Parish Council carry out a clearance of the dich as the Allotments will rely on the dich for drainage. Frustratingly much of the blockage was found to be organic material that has been dumped in the dich, this required a lot of extra time and cost to dig out. Further work will need to be undertaken later in the year to dig the channel out completely, but for now the difference has already been complemented on by many residents.
